Kleberson played for Atlético Paranaense, Gilberto Silva for Atlético
Mineiro. And there was also Juninho (subbed in at 85'), who played for
Flamengo.

Indeed, this looks about right. So what is the other team then? :-)

As has been noted in other posts, the correct answer
is indeed Argentina 1990 and Brazil 2002. Sweden 1958
came close, but for two Örgryte players (Gren, who had
just returned from and Simonsson, who hadn't yet
embarked on his international career)

Yes, these are all correct. (Stiel*i*ke though, minor
quibble). The also mentioned Dugarry had left
Barcelona for Marseille during the winter break
before the WC.

So all that remains to be guessed is the sixth
Real player!

Me too. October 6th, 1958 to be exact.

Argentina 1990 I think. Would not have been the case if not for all the
suspensions, as I think their first choice 11 would have had two players
from the same team (Giusti, Olarticoechea, Batista ?, Caniggia
suspended) - :

River: Batista, Serrizuela
or
Independiente: Monzon (came on as sub), Giusti
or
Udinese: Sensini, Balbo (injured ?)

or maybe not.
