The problem is that he just hasn't fitted into how we've played for most of the season - SAF has played 5 midfielders a lot of the time, to compensate for our weakness in that area - if we'd had Scholes and Keane at their best in the centre, then Rooney and Berbatov could have played together more often - but we don't have that these days. Personally, I don't want to see him go - I do want to see Hargreaves back (or an equivalent replacement), so we can play Fletch - Hargreaves in the centre, with Valencia and Nani on the wings, with Berbatov playing just behind Rooney up front. I think the nail in the coffin this season was believing Hargreaves would be back in action by Christmas - I'm sure that, if we'd known in the summer what we know now, SAF would have bought a replacement for Hargreaves and we'd be romping away with the title. -- SteveH |
