No borders between Italy and Spain.

No "terrestrial borders" anyway, but you cand find a social
relationships between both countries.

Particularly in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (Naples and Sicily,
whom Alfonso V de Aragon was king) and in Venice, where a few words of
the local dialect sound kind of Spanish.

Actually, we are very few in this group, with a lot of aliases *LOL*.

Millivella should run a competition somehow on this matter.

That's what I thought, (Furlan = Veneto) but I think it might be Spanish.

Got this today from the net.

Furlan
Last name origin & meaning:

Slovenian and Italian (Venetia): ethnic name for someone from Friuli
(Slovenian name Furlanija), or for a person of Friulian origin, from
the medieval Latin adjective furlanus.

Also read that Diego Forlan is son of Pablo Forlan Lamarque, an
uruguyan footballer, and Lamarque is a surname of French origin. But
at the same time, the full name of Diego Forlan is Diego Martín Forlán
Corazo and Corazo is definitely of Spanish origin.

So definitely Diego Forlan looks to be of mixed French and Spanish
descent.

Around 60% of the total Argentinian population have some degree of
Italian descent.

Argentinian players with an italian name are: De Michelis, Bolatti, Di
Maria, Pastore, Messi, Palermo and Milito. Maradona has the
Great-Granfather from a Dalmatian island, now Croathia but at the time
probably Italian territory

The Uruguay team has players with an italian family name too:

Fucile, Scotti, Gargano and Cavani. Probably Lugano too.

Forln could be the mispelled italian name Furlan, very Common in
northen Italy
