According to most accounts he's well settled living in the NW. According to what's appeared in the press he's never said any different to anyone, his agent, assuming he has one, has never said any different, either. The only people who ever claimed Torres was unsettled were Man City and Chelsea who are desperate to sign him and the hacks who feed off their press releases and will print just any old shite just to stay in their good books. Apparently the Chinese guy has made it a condition of his buying the club that Torres is part of the deal. The only fly in the ointment hanging over any sale of the club, is that the price now being asked is much considerably lower than Hicks and Gillet were originally asking. Although it will still allow them to walk away with a profit. michael adams ....

Which started off at 44 million, went to 297 million and stood at 350 million in May according their accountants. > Is it up to the LFC board, or to Hicks/Gillette? As Hicks and Gillet own all the shares - unless and until the club was put into adminstration and matters were taken out of their hands - they'd have to sign on the dotted line. If they've got any sense they'll bite Huang's hand off to grab any money they can, and make for the door. Although on paper they'd be losing 70 million - 150 million out of the 500 million, the rest paying off the debt, as against the 220 million they paid, they probably siphoned of five times that amount during the period they owned the club. And they know it. michael adams ....

Seriously though, why do we all get suckered by this ? The press toiled for 6 seasons to get the last manager sacked, they toiled to get Gerard to leave, and now Torres. They will choose another negative now, likely to be a Kenny/Hodgson rift, or faults with any prospective buyers. I dont see Rooney being linked with a move, and he hasnt come out and said categorically hes staying at Man U - nope, its just Liverpool players who seem to have to do this each season. Hodgson came back three weeks ago and said Torres will stay. I dont know whey we worry, I really dont. |
