But this is the case with all players whether the agreement is stated or
not. Contracts are meaningless. Expediency rules, but far better for all
to sometimes hide that fact behind the cloak of loyalty.

When has Torres, his agent if he has one, or anyone else, ever said he didn't
intend to honour his contract ?

All that confirming that he intended to honour his contract would achieve,
would be to raise the possibility in people's minds that there was some
chance that he might not.

That's like going to a party or function and saying "Hello I'm Jim,
this is my wife Margery. And I can assure all of you that we're happily married
and have no intention of getting a divorce in the coming year".

Footballers, like people in general are all different. According to the
article I quoted earlier, Torres walks his dogs in the local parks.
Now can you seriously see someone like Spudface or the Ladybody
doing something like that ?

Focused on? LOL.....are you really saying that they cannot handle training
whilst making a simple statement?

Not so Michael, and I know that you know it. Just remember the facts.
Speculation about his future started long before the season ended. Would he
stay if 4th place was not on?
An unequivocal statement that he intended to stay would have prevented
that.
You might have noticed that it is a demand to leave, or complete silence,
which precedes all moves by the star players. I cannot remember one
move which followed the simple comment that " I am not going anywhere"
