That's true but in this world cup you got the sense that it could
happen to anyone. In the past certain teams and the home team were
immune. Things never even out in a short tournament like this. The
best team could only win if they played a 38 game league schedule. You
need luck in order to win, some teams need more luck than others.
Spain haven't had too much luck and they are in the final.

They play with clean intention and that gets the refs on their side.
No team is perfectly behaved but Spain are pretty good compared to
most of the teams. Remember that a penalty was given to Paraguay that
could have made the score 1-0 and it would have been very difficult
for Spain to score a goal if that happened. The officiating has been
poor after the group stage but I don't feel they looked to favor any
one team like in most of the other world cups where Brazil and some of
the other big teams have always been favored along with the home sides.

I have a feeling you would only accept Italy as champions hehe. Don't
worry about Spain. If they win they will be considered one of the best
teams ever. I don't think I have seen better.

In most cases the ref would have blown for a penalty. What happens if
the Swiss don't score? No card I guess given how the refs have
officiated Spain and the Dutch.

No he didn't.

See #1.

No. He was tripped.

A stamp isn't the same as a trip.

There was NO contact. Clear as crystal on HD. I'll get round to posting
the video sometime after the WC.

They encroached on the first. If there's a re-take and Cardozo scores it
changes the completion of the game completely.
