I forget exactly when, but there was a time last season when Torres
returned when he just looked I don't know....I just didn't feel he
should've been playing. Also hasn't had an off-season for the third
straight season running.

Hope same thing doesn't happen to Rooney, sometimes coming back before
being about 80% can have long-term damage.

I agree, maybe Torres didn't want to play (he certainly looked like he
didn't) because he felt he was still injured. I think that young players
playing 40-odd games a season isn't a problem at all - *as long as they
aren't carrying an injury*. Too many players are pressured (forced) into
playing because their team needs them, I think.

The other danger is, if you've got a strain on one side, you end up
favouring the other side to try and protect it, then you end up pulling all
your joints and ligaments on that side, I've done it myself.

Be interesting to see if Capello can get a winter break, I reckon a month of
(hopefully) rest would stop a lot of the late-season injuries happening.

Try and understand that it takes players time to "play themselves in"
after injury and that at this time they are susceptible to pick up
another unrelated injury.
