I don't think he was. He was talking to the whole team and anyone else looking in. Our problem last season was that we had our heads down because of some early injuries and bad luck, some considerable loss of form and to an extent, due to the boardroom chaos. RH is saying to the team 'man up!', and it is for the consumption of outsiders - Liverpool are not going to lie down like they did so often last season, no matter what goes on outside the team and coaches.

The two players who made a big point on the need for better players last season were SG and Torres, so we might assume that these recent remarks were directed mainly at them. He also made it clear that the remark was intended for the so called "stars". There was no ambiguity. LC > |
