So did I, but BM played well. I was amazed that, with about 20 to go and
with Bayern pressing, Fergie bought on Berbatov who was hardly going to
add much to a midfield under a bit of pressure.

He shines mainly against poor sides or when his team are on top and
coasting home. Not the man for last nights game at 1 - 1.

If you keep repeating that it doesn't make it any more true. The fact
that United play Rooney on his own with 2 wide players, in what are regarded
as the more difficult games, means we just don't know. You're making
assumptions about Berbatov based on the fact that Rooney is prefered in that
role. This is completely different to Berbatov failing to shine when being
used frequently in these situations, instead of Rooney.
We may be about to find out, but after the Bolton game isn't it 9 games
in a row United have won without Rooney in the team. Not the same thing as
playing the big games with Berbatov in Rooneys role but the only real stats
there are. Certainly there are none to indicate what you keep repeating.

I thought that Fergie felt that Berby a tleast could hold the ball up a bit
and distribute.

That was the 10th Rooney-less win of the season.

Exactly. That's one of his major strengths.

Berbatov gets the chance to shine against the big boys now. I'm not too
worried.

Should we not win the PL or CL this season, it won't be because of Rooney's
injury. It will be because of schoolboy finishing against Burnley and
Foster's disaster performance against Sunderland....
