Sensible answer Ron. By the way the people I quoted paying for their care: one a retired teacher in Whistable died several years ago now and he was paying , or should I say his family with Power of Attorney were paying 580 per week. The second example that I found out about last week was another colleague at work who's working class mum has to find 900 per week. The thing I find very unfair is that people who have never had any intention of working legally at least will pay nothing. The other reason I've mentioned the income available for people with the lable Learning Disabilities attached to them is not because I'm callous but I know from much experience how much state money is being needed to provide someone their own home and independence. The money generated in supported living sees people via the state live a far far beytter lifestyle than the careers supporting them. Those are my gripes on these issues, its unfair with both groups of people that those who work , contribute and do no harm to others get treated so appallingly by the PC brigade and lets face it most public Policy under labour has been precisely that with its Supported Living bill and its direct payments bill. Did you know under the direct payment bill policy an individual with a profound or modicum of a learning disability are meant to recieve not just their benefits but also the care budget as well. The theory is the "service Users" will hire and fire their own staff it will be their choice who works with them. This takes labour laws back to the dark ages Ron. Don't forget the care budget could be anywhere between 10,000 to 100,000 per yer purely in staff costs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_Payments Strange but true Lawrence, i have been in a lot of care homes installing one thing or another and my overriding memory of them is the stench of rotting flesh i kid you not. another thing they charge between 600 to 900 P/W and pay the staff minimum wage.

You are obviously devoid of the minutest smidgen of morality.
