I have no dog in this fight, so don't take this the wrong way: your
statement does *not* disprove his. The trophies are not necessarily
correlated with academy success. In fact, a case could be made that
short term success can be gained by investing in buying players.

Perhaps he was talking about the Academy trophies:

Premier Reserve League North Champions 2010
Premier Reserve League National Playoff Winners 2010
Premier Academy League Winners 2010
Manchester Senior Cup Winners 2009
Lancashire Senior Cup Winners 2009

That covers most of what the academy players can win.
