Fair point you make, but Mart is nearing 60 himself, not exactly a young up
and coming coach!!!

A "Young SAF" had already won one European Trophy and had his team
playing in another European final when we signed him. There's also the
little matter of taking a club with no money and having them rule the
"Old Firm" . There's no comparison in the credentials that SAF had and
MON now, he simply isn't in the same class .

Sir Alex's record in Scotland is :

Scottish Premier League: 1985, 1984, 1980; Scottish First Division:
1977; Scottish FA Cup: 1986, 1984, 1983, 1982; Scottish League Cup:
1986; UEFA Cup Winners' Cup: 1983;

Compare that with MON's record

He had far better credentials when he joined United than MON has even
now, and he got them at an unfashionable Scottish Club that was
practically bankrupt when he joined them.

I wonder if it was money, the reasons are unconfirmed.

Interesting to see which managers moan about money (Mourinho, and yes
Benitez) and those that get on with it (SAF, Wenger, Moyes).
