well it's the national anthem of the United Kingdom to be precise, not
just England. But I agree with you - how long would it take to get all the
players together and teach them the words? Even thick footballers should
be able to memorise a few short verses. Kissing the three lions is a bit
hollow if you don't or can't sing your own anthem. Singing the anthem is
part of the protocol; if they don't like it they should stop representing
the country and claiming the benefits that brings.

Bloody hell, as we approach the last few, limping days of my existence in
this group, we've actually agreed on something!

Will we be exchanging phone numbers next?

I hate seeing some singing, some not. I used to point people to Rugby
internationals to see how to put your arms round your teammates and belt out
the anthem, until people like Mike Catt started tugging his ears to send
some secret message to his missus and ruined it.

Don't forget that Hitler used to sing the German anthem. A bad crowd
and his eyes are too close together. Should this fellow ever receive a
