lets not get all misty eyed with those rose tinted specs here.

I love the guy for his goals against the scousers but he wasn't a
great player when he signed for United, and he didn't become one or
really look like becoming one when he was with us. Only when he left
did his career take off, and we can only summise that his playing
style suited the Spanish league better than ours, and he relaxed when
out of the spotlight at a lower profile club (Villarreal)

Truth his, he never realy grasped the opportunity given to him at
United, for whatever reason.

Remember, he left and in his place we got Rooney

It's fair to say that he has improved since leaving United. Some players
just don't fit with Premiership football, and never will. Doesn't make them
bad players, it's just one of those things.

Yes Steve but I think Bill's point is that Forlan may not have flowered or
flourished at Old Trafford; he needed to take a new club and surroundings to
become what we see today. .Personally I'd love him now seeing the player
he's become.
