Barry is a midfielder, Brown a defender

While calling Carrick a passenger is inaccurate, he was number three in
central midfield for United this past year.

Fletcher 29 starts 4 goals 5 assists
Scholes 24 starts 3 goals 3 assists
Carrick 22 starts. 2 goals 1 assist. Not great for a good passer and
shooter, as Carrick undoubtedly is.

(league games)

Gerrard started 32 games in the league, and had 9 goals and 7 assists.
He was off form, but hardly a passenger.
