In all seriuosness guys what England is seriously lacking is a hardman in midfield, among other things. Barry comes closest to that role but he is hurt and I don't know how effective he will be. Playing both Lampard and Gerrard in the middle gives them two players alwasy looking to get forward and not get stuck in. I think I would have gone with Parker who at least defends hard. Unfotrunately the US defense has looked really iffy in the last couple of games. Gooch is playing at maybe 60%. Spector mad a couple of howlers in the last game against Turkey. Otherwise I would be predicting a US upset. Then, if Rooney goes down, England is absolutely toast. The odds of that happening with all of his injuries is at best 50/50. England barely thru the group and out in the quarters. chrism
