Last year Real Madrid got the 2nd highest points total ever achieved in
Spain. Therefore any other year they would have won the league.

They will be much better this year, mainly due to the presence of the
man who will be considered in a few years time as clearly the best
manager there has ever been (he already is).

Will they win? I would make them clear favourites due to the Mourinho
effect and especially as they have not won for a few years - this
motivation effect is worth a fair few points - winning 3 in a row is a
very difficult achievement. The squad has the players for Mourinho to
turn into a brilliant team.

Having said that Barcelona (who I support and love) will be brilliant
again. It is hard to think of ANY team in history that would be ranked
ahead of their team of the last 2 years.

We should be seeing the two best teams in the world fighting for the
Primera title, it will be as invigorating a race as it was last season.

Absolutely fantastic news, I had a feeling Barcelona wouldn't be able to pay
up. but all this means he is cheaper next year!!! (Still could happen!!!)

Definitely a defender!!! Depth at central defence and right back are
necessary!!!

has he committed or has he "committed" (grudingly staying, with an
even bigger determination to leave the following summer--Fabregas,
Mascherano)?

I can think of several. There is nothing impressive about winning a two
team league. What they did internationally in 2008-2009, that was
impressive.

Not easy leaving your father to go live with your mother is it?

Different for Mascherano, his current club actually means nothing to him
unlike Fabregas who is captain and to date a one club professional!!!

He will be sold, when the time is right!!!
