Thanks everyone for the kind wishes.

I'm finally out of hospital after over a month inside, but they've
told me it could take up to six months before I fully recover. Even
then, there is one aspect of my life which will never quite be the
same, but thats something I'm prepared to deal with. Were it not for
the surgery, I may very well not be alive today and at the very least
would have had next to zero quality of life (I got hit suddenly and
unexpectedly by an acute condition, again, not that comfortable going
into the specifics). I'm genuinely grateful to be alive and once
fully fit, want to live each day to the full.

It feels great to be back home in familiar surroundings with my home
comforts. I don't know how hospitals are in other countries but I was
starting to feel very trapped and institutionalised. I will say this
much, I quite honestly saw and heard things that not just happened to
myself but to other patients that I think will genuinely haunt me for
the rest of my life. To quote a NOFX song "What is life, quality or
quantity?"

Okay, though, enough misery! There's a World Cup on the way and I've
been reading my World Cup guide with a view to making the most
accurate predictions possible (at least 80% of which you can guess
will be wrong!). I'm actually finding some of the groups really hard
to predict, with some teams only being seperated on goal difference.
So many variables. Also, even though this is the first African World
Cup, I get the feeling a lot of the African teams are going to come up
short earlly on - but I hope I'm wrong.

Live life to the full, people.

Roll on the World Cup!!!!
