Sir Alex has always insisted that the 80million Ronaldo squids was available, but all the players on the market were overpriced including Tevez. United has never been a one man team and never will be and should always be able to cope without one of the superstars. Madrid cannot buy success neither can Utd. What has happened to the Utd academy? Half the Barcelona team that is currently the best team on the planet, probably ever, has come through their academy. This has really set the standard in terms of the financial model and how to build a team via the youth system, this is exactly what Man Utd did mid 90's finally winning the treble in 99. It's swings and roundabouts, but the teams who always do best seem to be the ones that have been brought up together through a youth academy system not the teams that try and purchase success. What to do with the current Squad? They took a lot of criticism for this but it worked out for them. Most English fans are twats they just want to see their manager make big signings to the detriment of the younger players.
