Are you offering me a draw, as in chess? Each one collects half the data and
nobody gets bragging rights?

No! :) The protasis was "If we end tied..." (do you accept, BTW?). If
there is a loser he deserves to do the hard work *and* suffer the
bragging! ;)

(At least this is my answer for the time being. I've this increasingly
louder voice in my head that tells the proposing such a bet was
morally wrong...)

Darn, he didn't bite!

Of course it was! As someone who is used to defend characters of impeccable
moral fiber and unassailable virtue (Luciano Moggi, for example), let me
tell you that your proposal was completely morally deviant. Even if you had
not resorted to technological doping, still the fact that you were the one
to make the first move gave you a huge advantage. At a minimum, the bet
should have been handicapped. For example, your opponents should have
started from 1.5 points.

Of course, we are still in time to renegotiate the terms...

...."an Italian hero"...

Yep, I too thought it. But the doping part is worse IMO, because even
if I would have saved the forms asking everybody to put down their
predictions and then challenged only the ones that were different from
Voros' ones, the substance of my act would have been the same: using a
counter-intuitive truth(?) to fool some friends.

Is it (roughly 10% of the total points one can score) an arbitrary
quantity or is there some reason behind it? ;)

> Of course, we are still in time to renegotiate the terms...

I don't feel like doing it (even if I admit that I should accept any
reasonable proposal from all the good people that accepted the bet).
What I'm inclined to do is (assuming that I'll win!) make no use of my
win: no bragging, no prizes, no history of Calcio Catania, no CLFS
computation (at least, not by you alone). This wouldn't delete my
moral deviation, but would stop its growth. :)
