Prev: Adu still struggling to establish himself as a starter in Europe
Next: NT provisional squads for WC - Fantasy Scout
From: Mark V. on 12 May 2010 14:15 Deadline for submission: May 20 (this to avoid too many revised submissions based on tune-ups) Objective: Correctly pick the starting 11 of any World Cup squad on the first matchday. Rules: Pick one or two national sides that will be playing in the World Cup. Up to two entries per participant will be allowed. I suggest choosing your own country's national side and any other you might be familiar with. If your national side is not playing, then pick any two you might be familiar with. List 11 players that you predict will be starting for the national side(s) you choose. Carefully consider formation, tactics, precedent set in qualifying, current form, opponent, and injuries. Choose 3 additional players as reserves in the event any of the 11 you choose now become injured. When doing this, you may want to consider quality players who can play multiple positions, as you obviously are not going to be able to predict who might go down between now and the beginning of the competition. Scoring: You will be awarded one point per correct starter. Please note that a start by any of your reserve players will count for a point ONLY if injury is the reason he is replacing one of your starting 11. First tiebreaker: The number of original starters who start. In other words, if we come to a tiebreak situation, a first-11 starter will trump a reserve starter. Second tiebreaker: The number of players you choose as starters who come on as subs instead. If Milivella and I choose 9 starters correctly, but one of his comes on as a sub and none of mine do, then Milivella wins. Third tiebreaker: The number of your reserves chosen who come on a subs. Fourth tiebreaker: Goals scored by your starting 11
