I agree. This is the reason why I added the chance to mail me a private prediction in the Tight race prediction contest: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.sport.soccer/browse_thread/thread/5d08b488fc179280/ Don't know if it's enough, though. Maybe a sophisticated prediction would have been a better choice? Also, Mark suggested to just predict how a given bunch of players' total rating would compare to existing teams' total rating. Maybe I should have done it that way: we wouldn't know how many tackles per match would Materazzi win, but there would have been no reason to factor in Fulham's board etc. (and other teams' market: in this virtual 2009-10 season, Chelsea bought Cassano ad Iaquinta, United Di Natale and Giuseppe Rossi... English clubs seem to think that Italian strikers have a good quality/price ratio!). -- Cheers milivella

Andrea, Do you have any connections with the RSSSF folk? I wonder if they'd allow you to archive some of these contest results?

My games often don't follow strict rules, though, so I don't know if they are acceptable for RSSSF standards. -- Cheers milivella |
