Of *COURSE* it is bloody cheating! The fact that the rules > don't adequately punish it doesn't make it any less dishonourable. I have lost the count of the goals I saved with my hands on the line (weirdly, I never was red carded, I mean for that, there were plenty of other reasons to red card me really :)), or the ones I saw saving in this way. It is part of the game, everyone who play football accepts it. There is plenty of more dishonourable than that, I actually think it was eroic, if not legendary, the guy sacrified himself to save his team and ultimately played a big part on taking that to their 1st semifinal in 40 years, they will truly put up statues of him overlooking the Rio de la Plata .... -- ale http://ale.riolo.co.uk

Of course it's the current rules that we talk about, and yes breaking them occasionally pays. Such as a foul in the midfield. And neither is cheating.

It payed in both cases.

It'd be heroic to take one for the team if he also wasn't a first class diver. Now it only seems like he knows all the tricks in the book. |
