Same for Serbia - 37 of their 43 matches (1930-98) were played as Yugoslavia. Doesn't include matches played by Slovenia (6) or Croatia (13). The 33 matches listed for "Czech" includes 30 as Czechoslovakia and 3 as Czech Republic, but not the 4 played by Slovakia.

Honduras didn't concede too many goals.

Perhaps, but this is not what this is about. The World Cup is played by national football associations, not by countries. Serbia's and the Czech Republic's FAs are considered successors of the Yugoslavia's and Czechoslovakia's FAs, respectively. Therefore, they inherit the former FAs' records. What surprised me in this Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_team_appearances_in_the_FIFA_World_Cup) was to learn that the Slovakian FA is also considered a successor to Czechoslovakia's, which does not make sense, except as a political arrangement. FIFA.com seems to agree with me, kinda. The Czech Republic Association page says it was founded in 1901, and is affiliated to FIFA since 1907. Clearly, they are successors to whichever was the original FIFA member FA back in the day. The Slovakia Association page says it was founded in 1993. However, it's also affiliated to FIFA since 1907, which means either that they managed to time travel to become a member the same year the Czechs did, or that FIFA just doesn't care a lot about records and decided to please both sides.
