Messi - had a good World Cup. There's more to football than just
scoring.

Ronaldo - if you're talking about the Brazilian one, he didn't play.
If you're talking about Cristiano, he's way over-rated.

Rooney??? - since when's he been a superstar?

Kaka - he was recovering from an injury and he's a midfielder not a
striker.

As for using goals as yeardstick, the 4 stars I mentioned are all the
central part of their teams offense, and scored 94 league goals between
in the past season. So one measly goal (against North Korea!) is a
disappointment.
