According to FM database, his distance from... ....Busquets is 118 (main difference: Marchisio fitter as RM) ....Xabi Alonso is 117 (Marchisio more versatile) ....Xavi is 141 (Xavi fitter as free role) I too fail to see great similarities. Of course Marchisio is a central midfielder with good technique (passing) and physically strong, but surely there are players more similar to the Spanish trio?! We could ask ourselves "what are the greatest differences between Marchisio and each of the three Spaniards?"
