From: Google Beta User on 29 Jun 2010 19:59 Also in terms of his contract/board thinking, is he a real signing (i.e. a 3-5 year contract) or is he our Avram Grant?
From: Boris Punk on 30 Jun 2010 01:40 We sign a manager based on a decent run in the UEFA cup with an average team. Yes he's got Euro connections but I hope these directors know what they're doing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Hodgson

Definitely our Avram Grant - if a buyer pays several hundred million for a club, plus several hundred million more for a stadium, and provide initial funds to buy a few headline players, he ain't going to stick with a journeyman manager. Unless Roy does something special, he'll be gone the summer after we find new owners. And even if he does do something special, he'll probably still be gone, a la Real Madrid style. |
