Wesley Sneijder isn't English. Try again.

The number of goals Sneijder will score in his most prolific season
ever, will be no more than Lampard scores in an average season. It's
baffling that you would think Sneijder is even close to Lampard in
this regard..

Sorry - you have this backwards. Lampard was a black hole on the
field in 2006, and has been very average for England in general,
having good games against minnows and disappearing against quality
teams. Gerard definitely has hot and cold streaks, but at least
sometimes he's hot. If Barry is healthy, I'd pair him with Gerard -
the two have worked well together in the past - and see if the spark
is still there.

True, he didn't have a good tournament, but he was no more anonymous
than Gerard.

He was voted Player of the Year by England supporters for two years
running. They obviously didn't think he was average.

I can't think of one good performance from Gerard against decent
opposition.

Barry has been the difference on the field for England just as Capello
has been off. In order to play the three of them - which I'm sure is
what Capello would like to do - somebody has to play out of position.
Gerrard on the left and whoever is flavour of this particular month on
the right with Lampard and Barry see-sawing in the middle.
