Hahah, but no. Oddly, I don't see or hear my name when I read or hear
his, if that makes sense. I'm not even a fan of his; he's always
struck me as a bit of a jerk.

No, Michael, definitely not. Mertesacker was okay, not more. But the
other German CB, Arne Friedrich, was excellent so far and belongs in the
WC10 starting XI for me. Surprisingly.

Two complete ones, and bits of the others. Was he bad vs. Serbia ? That
is the one I saw least of.

What do you reproach him with ?

I have not watched every minute of all four German games, but I was
pleasantly surprised with him in the two full games, and bits of two
others, that I saw. He is quite good on the ball for a tall gangly Man,
and is strong in the air.

Friedrich has also played beyond my expectations. I never really
thought he was all that good at RB; does he now play in the middle for
Hertha too ?
