From: Jim Goloboy on 25 May 2010 21:32 70' USA 2-2 Czech Republic [Edu 17, Gomez 65; Sivok 44, Polak 58] US with a good period of pressure after the Czech goal and are rewarded when Goodson makes a nice effort to get on the end of a corner kick, heads it across goal where Gomez loses his marker and finishes. First international goals for both Edu and Gomez. Next step is to create a scoring chance from the run of play! From: Jim Goloboy on 25 May 2010 21:44 80' USA 2-3 Czech Republic [Edu 17, Gomez 65; Sivok 44, Polak 58, Fenin 77] Nice passing move by the Czechs on the left side of the US defense, Pearce misses a rash slide tackle, Sionko's cross isn't cleared and Fenin knocks it into the roof of the net. Pearce was culpable on the third Czech goal, too (2 - 3 now, Martin Fenin with the third Czech goal). If he hadn't slid past the attacker on the right the ball would never ended up in the box to be pinballed around. I have a feeling Pearce will be watching the WC from an Irish pub in Ft. Worth.
From: Jim Goloboy on 25 May 2010 22:00 FT USA 2-4 Czech Republic [Edu 17, Gomez 65; Sivok 44, Polak 58, Fenin 77, Necid 90+2] Our best-ever performance against the Czech(oslovak)s! We already knew that we struggle to create chances from the run of play without Donovan, that we are pretty effective scoring from set pieces, and that our defense is bad, so I don't think we learned much tonight. Final squad of 23 will be announced tomorrow afternoon. Let's see how the real team looks on Saturday against Turkey.
