From: Starcade on 26 Jun 2010 15:17 HT 0-1 (Boateng 5) And I'm not sure I've seen a half in some time (and that's saying something) where 0-1 would be considered as flattering to the side with 0 as this one. This is basically a calling back to the days when the USA were the whipping boys, because they got bent over and whipped by a superior Ghana side. But, again, for some odd reason, this team is one of the best at making adjustments in the locker room. They'll need them all (and probably an extra 30 minutes) to be playing next week. Mike

They looked a little better in the last 15 minutes. Still, though.... the strikers are useless (Altidore needs to stop trying to beat two defenders at a time!), Cherundolo is getting eaten up on his side, Donovan hasn't been that effective, and the central defense is very dodgy. Dempsey, Bradley, and, surprisingly, Bornstein, have all looked good.

57' 0-1 (Boateng 5) And AGAIN, they open the second half on the offensive, with more opportunities in just 12 minutes than in the entire first 45. But they have a half-hour to get one to earn another half-hour. Mike |
