3 cards in the first 21 minutes, but then things seem to have calmed
down.

For those of you who are watching, is this match clean or somewhat
dirty? Should we expect more cards?

It's cynical :-) None of the 3 yellow was from violent contact.

On soccernet Gamecast: "The Ivory Coast were clearly the better side
in possession in that first half but they didn't create much up front.
Portugal looked poor, unless Ronaldo got on the ball. Expect better in
the second half."

but the match stats had Portugal with most possession by 10%... maybe
they meant CIV had better "quality possession"?

A bit like that. Portugal were doing a lot of square passing in the
back with not much ambition. The ESPN crew deplored their negativity,
suggesting they migh be up for an 0-0.

In the 2nd half more is going on... CIV just had their first good
chance, pass into Toure and a decent shot but not with any difficulty
stopped. It's 55' and Danny goes off and now Simao is on. So PT have
more firepower at least in principle.
