I'm relatively happy with the draw, I honestly didn't believe we'd be able to pull one back. Despite a considerable advantage in possession time, the best we could do was a couple of long range shots. Italy's going nowhere. Quickie player ratings (on the standard italian 4-8 point scale, with possible extreme outliers) Buffon: 5 Reaaly should be a no rating, but he can't get himself injured all the time. Zambrotta: 6 Cannavaro: 6.5 Chiellini: 5 Criscito: 5 De Rossi: 6.5 (improved in the second half) Montolivo: 6.5 (better in the first half, then ran out of gas) Pepe: 7 . Pleasant surprise: lots of hustle and OK from set pieces. Marchisio: 5 Disappointment Iaquinta: 5 Gilardino: 5 Marchetti: 6 Didn't have to do much, but looked confident. Camoranesi: 4 Lost every ball he touched, lucky not to get a red card. God only knows why Lippi brought him to South Africa after the dreadful season he's had. Di Natale: 5 Almost as bad as Camoranesi, but in less time.

I know that a slick field can be intimidating to a defender trying to clear a ball. But how many times did Italy's defenders give the ball away in their own third? That being said, Paraguay didn't show much either.

This is the worst Italian team I can remember, no chance for the fifth star:-(
