Otofinals, second legs (away goals count):

São Paulo FC (BRA) 0-0 Universitario (Lima-PER)
[agg.: 0-0; PKs: São Paulo 3-1]
São Paulo wasted several chances, including two from inside
the goal kick area, through Marlos and Washington. On PKs,
goalkeeper Rogério Ceni had his kick magnificently saved by
Llontop, but responded by saving the next two shots against
him. Labarthe missed a third for the Peruvians and Dagoberto
converted the decisive kick.
São Paulo face Cruzeiro (BRA) or Nacional (URU).

Vélez Sarsfield (B Aires-ARG) 2-0 Chivas Guadalajara (MEX)
[Santiago Silva 3', Rolando Zárate 89'; agg.: Chivas 3-2]
Silva gave the hosts high hopes by heading an early cross
into the bottom corner, but Sánchez made several big saves
to stop a rout, including one with his FACE. A late header by
substitute Zárate left the game on fire for the five added
minutes, and even being eliminated, Vélez' players were justly
applauded by the fans after the final whistle.
Chivas face Once Caldas (COL) or Libertad (PAR).

Tonight

Estudiantes (La Plata-ARG) - San Luis FC (MEX)
[in Quilmes; 10:30 PM GMT; 1st leg: Estudiantes 1-0]
Easy one for Estudiantes.
Winners face Banfield (ARG) or Internacional (BRA).

Corinthians (São Paulo-BRA) - Flamengo (Rio de Janeiro-BRA)
[May 6 12:50 AM GMT; 1st leg: Flamengo 1-0]
Unpredictable.
Winners face Alianza Lima (PER) or Universidad de Chile.

Nacional (Montevideo-URU) - Cruzeiro (Belo Horizonte-BRA)
[May 6 12:50 AM GMT; 1st leg: Cruzeiro 3-1]
Cruzeiro should be given the edge, but this one is not over.
Winners face São Paulo (BRA).

Tchau!
