Semifinals, 1st leg (away goals count):

Internacional (Porto Alegre-BRA) 1-0 São Paulo FC (BRA)
[Giuliano 68']
After an uneventful first half due to SP parking the bus,
Inter's pressure mounted with a few good chances being
stopped by Rogério Ceni until substitute Giuliano's
attempted through pass was deflected, the ball broke to
Taison, he passed to Alecsandro on the edge of the box,
he couldn't control, but Giuliano had run into the box and
gathered the ball, turned around the last defender and
sent a low shot in off a post. Rogério still had to make a
couple of difficult saves, while on the other side Renan's
biggest challenge was a tame late crossing shot by
Hernanes.
Second leg on Aug 5.

Tchau!

I don't understand how this Rogerio Ceni, one of the best goalies I
have ever seen is not playing in Europe or didn't play in the recent
World Cup.

Top scorers among goalies, BTW.

Maybe he didn't get the same chance Julio Cesar had... Cesar was
fantastic in the whole of the CL including the Final, so it made sense
he was the No1 in the WC, even though he was below his CL standard
there.

It looks like his timing was unlucky... he got a few calls per year
1997-2006 i.e. during the Taffarel years and now he's behind Cesar who
is younger. Not the first time that happened... (eg, Frank Rost, Germany)
