Let me correct that: there is no contradiction, as you wrote *to*
Napoli.

Still, Maradona was nothing special at Barca, he had a season or 2 of
really great play at Napoli, an excellent WC '86, and then the rot set
in slowly. In '88 it was clear he was not on his usual top form anymore,
and after that it went downhill fast.

If you want to claim he was world class before Napoli, I stand by my
assesment of stupidity.

He was world class before and after Napoli, until (like you suggest) he
started going off the rails.
