So put Maicon at left back,, where he has played for Inter sometimes,
and put Alves on the right to attack Van Bronckhorst ?

I don't think I've ever seen Maicon on the left for Inter. Zanetti
usually plays there when he isn't in midfield.

Plus, I would be very wary of moving Maicon, and risk losing one of the
things that work best on this team.

(On the flip side, moving him could complicate things for a team that
planned something specific to counter him).

Er no. Maicon is just as much of a threat as Robben. Between Bastos and
Julio Cesar they'll be fine. This Dutch side play like Trap's Italy. Go
a goal up and sit.

Yes. Which is one reason for matching them against each other. Van der
Wiel will have his hands full with RObinho, so Robben would have to
track back a lot more than usual.
