Neither do I. Bert is a canny coach, and has shown himself fairly good
at judging the morale of his team (his only failure was as a club coach
in Germany).

Same way he did this game I think. Just watched an interview with van
Bommel after the match, and it is fairly clear that patience is the game
plan. May not make for exciting games, but so far it's served the
Netherlands well.

Kudos to van Bommel though. He openly admitted that the first half mess
was partly or mostly his fault for playing too deep and leaving too much
space between defense and forward line.

I am huge admirer of Dutch football, the discipline, the desire to
dominate the midfield and use 10 min or so just to put on a midfield
show for the opponent (lull him to sleep?). Watching Robert Kouman,
de Boer play was like witnessing a masterpiece being made. It's not
pretty or flashy, like Pele tangoing to the goal. It's about
possession and control, which wins 4 times in 5.

But they clearly corrected for the next period while never letting go
of the priority of establishing the back wall.

You still have not offered an opinion about whom you would like to see
in R16 or how to play them. You waiting for this 2nd set to sort
things out in Group F first?

Yes, sorry about that. I thought I saw FIFA put a "Marwuk" spelling,
but they are using yours in other parts of their website.

Yeah. I don't do predictions that far ahead.

Erm. No.

Dutch rules say that the words in the middle part of the name are not
capitalised, except at the start of sentences.
