Nice to meet you, and thank you for being courteous, Hmm, you may not be far
from me, I live in Wollongong, which is about an hour or so south from
Sydney. One would miss home, but I bet you love the weather better here :)
amongst other things, though as a football fan, you don't get a choice of
top class matches here, especially when compared to anywhere in London, led
alone the Eastend!!!

Haha, true fan then, sticking by a team through the highs and lows shows
your dedication to the cause, and YES, I first hand do know how hard it is
to watch football from Europe particularly in Australia, all the main
leagues are available, good quality HD availability of the matches, but like
last night, I stayed up from 2am - 6:45am just to watch the two champions
league matches. To be honest, it's a real struggle.

Cricket, swimming, football, one day when I have kids, it will be essential
they play sport, there's nothing better in life than seeing them play i'd
imagine!!! NSW development squad, nice, may there be some Ian Thorpe's
amongst them, in a swimming capacity I mean :)

Thanks for introducing yourself, hope others are also taking a chance at
reading all the posts on here, and appreciate you thinking its a good
idea!!!

Thank you for being courteous Abubakr, and nice to meet you too!!!
I bet you loved the Serie A highlights show that used to be on SBS every
Saturday at 10 as much as I did, it also played an important role for me to,
Parma were the first team I ever supported as a very young boy, way before I
even heard of Arsenal. Usually when I say I like Parma, people say why, my
reason truely is, the day felt better when I saw the result, and when they
lost, the day would pan out to be a long one!!! Milan though are a great
choice, and honestly can't believe we beat you a few weeks back for the
first time in a long time!!! :p

Yeah, Everton have great traditions, and that era was a long time ago now,
but still they battle on, and yeah, on Barcelona, only a team led out by Sam
Allardyce would look past it!!! They simply are clever with the ball, and
special as a unit!!!

Great list too, it's good to know the choices are popular in Maradona, van
Basten, outside of a few tapes I have, it was a shame I missed such a great
era, and usually blame my parents sometimes,

Up the Socceroos of course, and just imagine how Messi in current form will
go at the WC quite frightening!!!

If I may, how do you think Australia will fare in the group stage? Are we
any chance to get at least four points again?

Well his unfortunate injuries are the sole reason he didn;t fulfull the
great start to his career!!!
I'd pick Adams to Terry!!!

I also write with my own full name. I'm 29 years old and have lived
almost all my life in the same town, right here next to Helsinki. I find
it perferct place to bring up my two sons (3,5 years and 2,5 months)
with my wife of 5 years (we started dating in high school 12 years
ago...). I'm trying to graduate with a bachelors degree in Media
Engineering before midsummers eve, so I would graduate before I turn 30.
I have worked fulltime during most of my studies, and landed my dream
job 1,5 years ago, working as a sysadmin/it manager/cto for the biggest
post production company in Finland.

I was very late in becoming a football fan, but I realized I was a
football when I felt awful and pissed off for several days when
Leverkusen beat Liverpool in the CL. Liverpool is my favourite team,
followed by the Finnish NT and our local team, Honka. I used to have a
soft spot for Man City, but after the arabs came in I lost interest. OF
foreign NTs England and Holland are my favourites. I have also managed
to visit Anfield once, and have seen Fowler score in the Kop-end.

My favourite players are Litmanen and Hyypiä, for obvious reasons Of
foreigners I like Gerrard (when he is on form) and Torres, while I do
concede that Messi is the best in the world right now.

I also started playing football at the ripe age of 24. Our team
achievedpromotion from the 7th level fo the finnish pyramid to the
6th last autumn. My preferred position is striker or right back. My only
strength is pretty good reading of the game, but everything else
(especially my lack of speed) lets me down.

Oh yes, that SBS show was all we had for years in Australia. Parma has
made a habit of making splash in Serie A against Milan. I remember
they announced their arrival in their first ever season in Serie A in
1990 by beating the Rossoneri, and of course then went on to be one of
the best clubs during the 90's.

They are peerless in this day.

We're a chance but it's going to be tough. I think they need to get a
result against Germany in the first game to have a chance. Their
problems are in creating chances and scoring goals. Verbeek is a
terribly cautious manager at the best of times and he hasn't been
helped by the fact that Australia doesn't have any good strikers
around, but hasn't helped himself either by continuing to snub Nicky
Carle who's the one player in midfield that can provide some spark of
creativity and freshness. Apart from that, the team is built around
the stalwarts of 2006, all pretty much four years past their best. I
just don't know where goals are going to come from this time.
