Typical unsubstantiated claim made by conformists about those that don't fit
their favorite mold.

Dude, you have direct truth line to god, don't you need tin-foiled hat
to be receptive?

(Conformist? hah, there's always first time, I guess)

do you ever have a point to discuss or put downs are what you live for?

I can't remember any of your interventions that would show the opposite.

I have always preferred to keep my usenet identity distinct for
various reasons but having been inspired by so many people being so
forthcoming here I will come out of the closet :-) My Facebook RSS
friends (Thach, Jussi, Mark V, Anders) already know a bit about me
though.
My name is Bilal and I'm a 37yo Pakistani who's lived in the US for
the last 18+ years. I currently live in Chicago but I'm moving back to
NYC with my firm in a month or so (lived in NYC for many years prior).
I work for a large management consulting firm and got married last
summer. No kids yet though (or none that I know of! :-)
I lived in Dubai for a few years when I was younger and with it being
a very Anglo-centric footballing culture I gravitated towards the all-
dominant Liverpool of the time. I fell in love with them after
watching my first complete football game, where Alan Kennedy
dispatched Roma with the final penalty in the 1984 EC final shootout
in Rome.
I've always been an ardent player as well, and played striker for my
high-school team which won the city-wide high school football
championship in both of my final two years :-) In college I started as
a freshman for a small NCAA Div II school in the American Midwest,
before transferring to the Univ of Texas Austin where I played club
soccer (UT isn't a part of the NCAA in soccer unfortunately). I never
stopped playing and still play in Chicago city leagues, but at 37 it's
becoming a rather ego-shattering experience I'm afraid.
Favorite player ever is the king, Kenny Dalglish!

Great idea for a thread btw, we're all here discussing, laughing, and
fighting with each other all the time, knowing each other's biases and
idiosyncrasies, but dont know a lick about who we're talking to except
our posting handles!
