From: JCQ on 21 Jun 2010 22:23 Lampard said they should win because the EPL is the best league in the world and they have some of the best players on Englad. What? If you take out the top 5 or 6 teams in the EPL, the rest are just horrible. They play no defense and players like Rooney and Lampard can look very good and score a lot of goals. The World Cup is not like the bottom 10 of the EPL. England are just not as good as they think they are and seem unwilling to show more passion and effort. They expect things to come as easily as in the EPL and that's just a dream that won't come true. In the world cup you have to take it to another level or you get what we are seeing from England so far. Someone should remind Lampard of how many of the best players in the EPL are not English and some of the biggest clubs have fielded an entire team without even one English player.

Now that is total rubbish. Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Rio, Terry are (or have been till very recently) world class and some of the most sought after players in the world. They would "look good" anywhere. > England are just not as good as they think they are If you had been around longer you would have noticed that this time around most jaded England fans have been guarded about their chances, it's mostly continentals who have been playing up their chances. Either way, I agree they are overrated. England's recent coaches have been chronically unable to make this current crop of stars play like a cohesive unit. Lord kows what the reason is, every armchair expert has an opinion on why. > They expect things to > come as easily as in the EPL and that's just a dream that won't come > true. England can turn it up in one game and have everyone, English or otherwise, swooning over their chances again. Or they could be out of the competition by Wednesday afternoon. The latter is more likely, but the former is entirely possible.

Correct.
