I meant around here (RSS). Most RSSers dont give two shits about what
the English tabloids are saying. And to the best of my knowledge, none
of England's players or coaches really built up their chances prior to
the tournament as well.

Yes. Many marquee players identified England as one of the main
contenders, as did other neutrals after their impressive qualifying
campaign under Capello.

Kudos to your foresight, but I dont think anyone else expected them to
be this bad.

That much has been evident so far. But it can change very quickly with
one good showing against Slovenia. Most people have short term
memories.

They drew 2 matches, just like Italy have. Not exactly loses. It could
have been worse. I think with their backs against the wall we may see
them perform up to their own level against Slovenia and that might be
good enough to move on. I agree that it can all change very quickly.
If Rooney knocks one in he might just wake up but I don't think he is
half the player he was 4 or 5 years ago. They seem to have coached the
originality out of him. I've seen it before with Joe Cole and Owen.
They become too afraid to make mistakes or take chances.

Rooney isn't the same player he was when he was 19?

Rubbish, he's just had his best season. The player isn't 100% fit, he
hasn't had the matches nor time to play himself back into full
fitness.

The pointlessness of cycling through managers has been at the core of my
argument for as long as we have exchanged barbs about this. Clearly you
aren't a good listener.

Maybe he shouldn't be playing them. I assume that if he is on the
field during the world cup then he is fit enough to play. To me he
doesn't look like half the player he was at 19. Just my opinion. I
only saw him a few times this year in the EPL. I do not follow
Manchester United but I remember a much quicker and original player at
19 or 20 than what I see now.
