Why do they want Khedira on top of Alonso, 2 x Diarra, Gago, Granero, Drenthe, Van der Vaart (is he still there) etc. in midfield ? He is better than some of them, for sure, but not such a big improvement that it is worth their while running after him and paying over the odds. I think this could easily kill his career at NT level, if, as seems likely, he is only in and out of the RM lineup.
