If I looked this up correctly, the previous record holder was
Liverpool (twice, 1985 and 2005), with two Englishmen in
their starting side.

Arsenal matched that in 2006, no? Cole and Campbell

Liverpool in 1985 were
1 Zimbabwean
4 Scots (one more came on as a sub)
3 Irishmen (one born in England)
1 Welshman
2 Englishmen

A quite different set of "foreigners" than the 2005 edition. Nicol,,
Whelan, Rush and Beglin all joined Liverpool by the time they were 20.
