(She loves my tapes from the 1970s because the shorts are so short.) We were running a little short on time, have an engagement this evening, and after the dreadful first half--by far the worst match I've seen the whole tournament--I asked her to fast forward the DVR while I looked away to 15 minutes into the second half and tell me if there had been a goal. She mistunderstood and announced she was now at 88 minutes with no goals. Based on the above comments it sounds like there would be unanimous agreement that she did us both a huge favor. I am delighted by the result because it means the US will probably go through as we sure as hell deserved to do. In fact we should have been the group winners. What is rather interesting is that Slovenia could still go out if England beat them and if we beat Algeria by 2 goals, so they will have to be trying. And franky I don't see how England can possibly beat Slovenia on the form they have shown. Tomorrow looks like a pretty slow day but given the way we've been full of surprises. . . .who knows? DK

The main stream media don't really report much about the event but there's good coverage on ESPN. Most reports I've seen have been playing back the "goal" and trying to spot any possible infringement. There was none of course! RED DEVIL
