From: Google Beta User on 16 Jun 2010 09:21 Chile actually NOT sittting on 1-0 lead? I'm not in the "boring" camp. 0-0, 1-1 or 1-0 is not automatically boring, I'd expect that from American "goals should be 3 times larger types, but not from RSS. S. Africa-Uruguay, Brazil-N. Korea, Argentina-Nigeria, US-England, for example were good. There HAVE been some snoozefests mind you, like the France game. Going back to Chile, I wonder if they'll play an open game vs. Spain.

But I agree with the rest and would add Germany-Australia amongst the better ones too. > There HAVE been some snoozefests mind you, like the France game. > Going back to Chile, I wonder if they'll play an open game vs. Spain. This is Chile and it's how they play. It's a simple game: everybody defends and everybody attacks, supporting each other in all movements, it's how football is supposed to be.

You aren't familiar with Bielsa's work and philosophy, are you? ;) > Going back to Chile, I wonder if they'll play an open game vs. Spain. I think we will. Bielsa plays attacking to the end. For example, during the qualies we played an attacking game against Brazil, in the Maracaná.

British commentators moan about 0-0, too, and a 5-4 game is always referred to as dramatic and entertaining, 'what we came to see', etc, etc. This notion that only Americans are bored by nil-nils is utter rubbish.
