As opposed to my usual tetchy questions.

I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 but my computer needs to be 64 bit
whatever that means. How do I find out if my computer is 64 bit or not?

Thanks pal,

Le Dieu.

Windows 7 comes in 32 bit and 64 bit.

You mean the 'free' version you are being offered is 64 bit?

You need to find out if your processor is 32bit or 64bit.

It will probably show if you go to 'control panel' --> 'system'

Thanks Jesper, I've been in there but can't seem to find anything. What
exactly am I looking for?
