Landon Donovan has played in the SPL?

I've played the game in the Football League

He has played in the SPL ?

Donovan is MLS's biggest star. And he was a useful squad member at
Everton, but unable to make much of an impact at Bayern. This suggests
there is still a fairly big gap between MLS and the top European leagues
(and especially the top teams in those leagues)

Any other comparisons are harder to make as you can always find examples
and counter examples

Eg. Adrian Cann looks like a solid defender in MLS, but couldn't get
into the squad et Esbjerg, Beasley peripheral at Rangers, etc vs. De
Guzman being a starter at Hannover and Deportivo, but looking a bit
wobbly in MLS.

The style of play and pace can be quite different, and another huge
factor is that MLS is a summer league, played mostly in places where the
temperatures on most game days are such that high tempo play is
impossible for sustained periods. This has a big influence on which
players can thrive.

I'd be willing to bet that St Mirren would be at the bottom of the
SPL--if it were not for Andy Dorman, who of course had a pretty decent
mini career in MLS. And, I probably shouldn't have to mention here that
ex-MLS'r Maurice Edu did actually win the SPL championship for Rangers
this year with ihs goal against Celtic.

Are you now going to argue that the SPL is played at a faster pace the
the EPL to avoid admitting that you're up a tree on this one?
