Italy 82 was one of the toughest. Argentina Was the current World cup
Champion,W.Germany was the EURO 1980 Champ and Brazil and Poland were
excellent teams.

I would add France 2006 :

R16 : Spain (future European champion)
QF : Brazil (defending champion)
SF : Portugal
F : Italy (lost)

I don't think they will win. Spain is too experienced for the young
German team. And simply too good.
