below). Also, the pool has just 22 players.

Futbolmetrix goes first, picking one player. Then alternate picking
two players each, until 20 players have been picked.

Then you have to put the players you have picked in either a 4-4-2 or
a 4-2-3-1 formation:

4-4-2
RD (like Glen Johnson or like Maicon)
CD (like Vidic or like Samuel)
CD (like Vidic or like Samuel)
LD (like Ashley Cole or like Purrel Fränkel)
RM (like Varela or like Aaron Lennon)
CM (like Xavi or like Essien)
CM (like Xavi or like Essien)
LM (like Culio or like Malouda)
FS (fast striker, like Villa)
TS (target striker, like Drogba)
Beware: a central attacking midfielder (like Kaká) is not expected in
such a formation. If you pick a CAM, he could be best settled as RM,
CM, LM or FS: it depends on his properties.

4-2-3-1

To make your choice, consider that the team's score is given by the
*geometric mean* of *your players' ratings in those position*:
- Geometric mean = nth root of the resulting product. I.e. higher
values beat lower values (4*2 beats 3*2), but also more balanced
values beat less balanced values (3*3 beats 4*2).
- Your players' rating in those position: e.g. Messi played as RM is
88 out of 100, but played as CD is 37 (like Giuseppe Abbrescia... and
I too ignore who the he is).
I.e. you have to pick good players, put them in the right positions
and avoid weak links (doesn't it sound reasonable?).

I'll use Football Manager (beginning of current season) ratings.
Please don't check them (but you could lose even if you'll cheat!).

If you don't play for more than 30 days you are out of the game.

Yep (you haven't started your research, eh?). BTW, it could happen to
have the same player twice in the the same pool; indeed it would be
quite interesting, e.g. playing two Messi's in the same team, one as
right midfielder and one as fast striker.

And I've read the list! Either my short-time memory is _very_ short or
I unconsciously think that I always I'm drunk so I don't have to worry
if I see things doubled.

Wow. How many chances there are that two different players with the
same name are picked, then I write about the same player being present
twice, then it's found out that indeed in that list a player was
present twice?!
